OFFERS AND COUNTER OFFERS
The offer you make on a home well may be less than the ‘asking’ or advertised price. When you do this the seller has the option of accepting your offer or countering it with another price or negotiation of closing costs or the inclusion or exclusion of certain contingencies.
Do not insult the seller with an offer too far below the asking price. He may refuse to consider any subsequent offers you make.
Until a seller and buyer have a written agreement, the seller is free to accept other offers he receives for the property. Keep this in mind if you are serious about purchasing his particular piece of property.
